Come Sail with Me!

Breeze into Support.jpg

Many of my greatest adventures, life experiences and learnings have come while sailing.

While growing up in Kansas, my family sailed a 22’ Catalina on a big lake on weekends.

Times when it was super windy, I loved the thrill of my dad putting “the rails in the water.”

This is an expression for letting the wind heel the boat over so hard the lifelines are in the water.   It’s thrilling but if you’re not careful, you may fall overboard…. and I have!

When there was no wind at all, we went swimming.

Sailing provides a terrific metaphor for life

  • In wind gusting to 35 or totally becalmed, you make the most of the conditions and know they will change.

  • Whether aboard a Sunfish or a 70’ Swan, you adjust your sails to maximize performance and enjoyment.

  • From Lake Perry to the Grenadines, you have reverence for the power of Nature and appreciate her beauty.

  • No matter what the GPS says, you trust your inner compass just as much!

  • Timing is everything and if you do not time the tide accurately in the East River along Manhattan, you are going nowhere.
